The name "Cold Smoke" honors Deenya Aliste's dance roots and incorporates the spirit of her home in the West.
Deenya Aliste's original teacher and troupe director was inspired by Carolena's words that certain moves look like 'smoke rising into the air.' This image was so powerful for her that she named her troupe "Smoke." In Montana, Cold Smoke refers to the light powder coveted by skiers and boarders. Cold Smoke Dance Collective embodies the love of movement, the thrill of play, and the coziness of community. The foundational philosophy is acceptance and love. |
influencesDeenya Aliste learned FCBD® style belly dance from Sister Studio Samantha Brenneman. She continues her studies with founder and globally acclaimed Master Teacher Carolena Nericcio and several advanced FCBD® teachers.
